About The Producers & Gallery Owners

Richard and Joanna Rothbard, founders and directors of American Art Marketing, have launched and produced art fairs and craft shows for over 40 years. In addition to their current summer Berkshires Arts Festivals and Crafts at the Cathedral, their past productions include the American Craft Show Sarasota, the American Fine Craft Show Brooklyn at the Brooklyn Museum, the Art Festival at Rockefeller Center, Contemporary Art Fair NYC, and American Fine Craft Show NYC and Washington DC.
Richard and Joanna spent 35 years on the circuit selling Richard's boxes. As veteran exhibitors, they know what it takes to become successful in the business.
They are always available to help artists when answers to specific questions are not readily available.

40 Plus Years Retailing American Crafts

An American Craftsman Galleries was founded by Richard & Joanna Rothbard as an exhibition space for contemporary American artists working in all craft media. The Rothbards, artists and art show organizers, opened the first AAC in Greenwich Village in 1980. Since then, An American Craftsman has had over ten locations throughout NYC and is currently located in Lenox, MA, and Manhattan.

 THE MAGIC OF THE BERKSHIRES

Are you an artist looking for customers who have both the appreciation of exceptional work and the financial capability to make significant purchases?

You will find that BAF has a loyal following of sophisticated and affluent art collectors.

Now in its 23rd year and featuring 175 artists, the Berkshires Arts Festival is recognized nationally as one of the country's most respected summer art events. The Berkshires Visitors Bureau rates the Berkshires Arts Festival as one of the top ten "Hot Spots" in Western Massachusetts. It is highly recommended as one of The places to go for family get-togethers and an extraordinary shopping experience. "With its relaxed atmosphere, great food, exceptional art & fine crafts, puppet shows, and live music, it's a great weekend for the entire family."

The July 4th weekend kicks off the summer cultural season, and The Berkshires Arts Festival has become a summer institution.

Once you visit www.Berkshires.org, the official site of the Berkshires Visitors Bureau, you immediately understand why the Berkshires Arts Festival is the place for artists to meet thousands of potential clients who not only appreciate and support the arts community but have become loyal buyers year after year.

  FYI

Smithsonian Magazine ranked Great Barrington as No. 1 among small towns in the United States in its 2012 May issue, citing its "big-city" smarts and its New England sensibilities.

Camping is a great Idea.

Camping on-site will be a significant cost saving as this holiday weekend has pricey accommodations.

Air B & B is a good option. Nearby towns for AIR are Becket, Otis, Sandifsield, Pittsfield, Monterey. and Marlboro are all in the vicinity. Great Barrington, Lee, Lenox, and Stockbridge are the major towns, but it may be difficult and more costly in these towns. An early start is a must.
